Emerging through the Haze, Outer Hebrides - Original oil painting

This calming semi - abstract original oil painting is inspired by the view from Talisker Bay to the Outer Hebrides. I'm fascinated by the ever changing light and atmosphere created over the sea - these islands have an air of intrigue and mystery and I love the fact that sometimes they are visible, sometimes you would not know they are there. I love the calm of this scene with the close hues of blue with a contrast of pale yellow and pink. The clouds are gathering, but the sunlight just reaching through to light up the sea below.
