Light Changes I - Original Oil Painting

This textural original oil painting is the 1st in a series inspired by watching the light, weather and mood change over the Islands of the Outer Hebrides viewed from the rugged coastline of The Isle of Skye. The colours used are limited and harmonious. The four paintings work together as a group, or individually. The white frame lightens the overall feel. The texture has been built up by layers of oil paint being added and scraped back - with palette knife and sand paper, giving the feel of rainfall, but the light still visible in the distance.
